A weekly review in 15 minutes
A week goes by fast. Without a moment to look back, the same things repeat: the same unfinished plans, the same lessons learned twice. Fifteen minutes once a week is enough to break that loop.
Minutes 1–5: look back
Answer three questions in a few words each:
- What went well this week?
- What did I learn — about a topic, about people, about myself?
- What did I avoid?
The third question is the most useful. Whatever you avoided is usually the thing that matters.
Minutes 6–10: clear the decks
Scan your calendar, messages and notes. Anything that needs a reply, a date or a decision gets one now, or a slot in next week's calendar.
Minutes 11–15: set up next week
Pick at most three things that would make the week a good one. Put each in the calendar as a real block of time. Add one thing just for curiosity: a talk, a walk, a chapter, a conversation.
Keep it light
- Same time, same place every week (Sunday evening or Monday morning both work).
- Paper or a single note is enough — no system to maintain.
- Skip a week without guilt; just don't skip two.
Do it together
A weekly review works surprisingly well as a 15-minute call with a friend: each person answers the three questions out loud. Hearing yourself say what you avoided is often the push you need.
